Planned Gift to Support Student-Athletes
George Jenkins, ’63, and his wife Gina, recently established a planned gift to create the Gina and George Jenkins Student-Athlete Scholarship Fund. The scholarship will give preference to students from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds, particularly those from the Appalachian region.

Hayley Shasteen, ’21, received a prestigious Goldwater Scholarship from the Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation. The foundation awards scholarships annually to students from across the country studying mathematics, natural science or engineering.
Alumna Receives Fulbright Grant
Sarah Schlosser, ’17, is traveling to India to work with craftspeople in order to develop a better understanding and document traditional methods of natural dyeing textiles. This experience is a result of Sarah receiving a prestigious Fulbright Study/Research grant.
