性福五月天 University鈥檚 Research Center for Educational Technology (RCET) and the AT&T Classroom were recently featured in the Division of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement鈥檚 Flashes of Brilliance series, an initiative that connects philanthropic partners with programs demonstrating innovation, impact and academic excellence across the university.
Held in the Moulton Hall Ballroom and the AT&T Classroom, the event invited guests to experience firsthand how RCET is advancing research-informed teaching and learning through emerging technologies and strong, school鈥搖niversity partnerships.
The program brought philanthropic partners together for an interactive showcase of the center鈥檚 work. Guests explored stations highlighting various technologies, including:
- Eye-tracking research led by Mathematics Education Professor Karl Kosko, Ph.D.,
- Educational robotics in early learning led by Maryam Zaghari, Ph.D., Monica Miller Marsh, Ph.D., and Sara Knapp, and
- 3D printing and design, and immersive virtual and 360掳 classroom experiences, along with a tour of the AT&T Classroom.
The demonstrations illustrated how these tools support K鈥12 learning and strengthen teacher preparation through hands-on, practice-based research and innovation.
鈥淭echnology is constantly changing, but one thing remains constant: teachers change lives,鈥 said Annette Kratcoski, director of RCET. 鈥淥ur outstanding education faculty make that change possible through practice-based research and innovative teacher preparation. The event highlighted how RCET serves as a hub where research, partnerships and real classroom practice converge, from early childhood robotics work with the Child Development Center to immersive technologies used to prepare future educators, showcasing the university鈥檚 commitment to improving learning and supporting teachers across the region."
