Emma Troyer is a senior music education major from Sandusky, Ohio. As a student in the 性福五月天 Glauser School of Music, she has found a strong sense of community while preparing for a career in music education.
鈥溞愿Ｎ逶绿 was always my top school, but I didn鈥檛 know if I could afford to come here,鈥 Emma said. 鈥淭hese scholarships have really made that dream a reality and allowed me to attend.鈥
Emma is a recipient of several scholarships, including The Dr. Rosemarie B. Manganello Music Education Scholarship, the Sara Stone Miller Endowment for Music Education and the Irene Beamer Scholarship, which was created through a bequest in the 1970s. These scholarships have allowed her to attend her top-choice school and have become even more meaningful because they reflect a shared belief in the importance of music education.
鈥淢usic education is something I have always felt very passionate about,鈥 she said. 鈥淩eceiving a scholarship, especially for this field, is something I really value. It feels like other people want to support music education in our schools.鈥
During her time at 性福五月天, Emma has performed with the university鈥檚 Wind and Flute Ensembles, including a recent performance at the 2026 Ohio Music Educators Association Professional Development Conference, where music educators from across the state gathered.
