ÐÔ¸£ÎåÔÂÌì the Center

CARES Center History

The need for the CARES Center was developed from the outcomes of the Kent Cares subcommittee of the Great Place Initiative and the outcomes of the Mental Health Steering Committee and workgroup. The CARES Center is a place dedicated to supporting students with their unmet basic needs as a centralized touch point. This Center not only connects students to existing resources on campus but also guides students to resources available to them off campus (local, regional, and national).

CARES Center Mission Statement

The CARES Center’s mission is to deliver compassionate, coordinated support that addresses students’ basic needs through advocacy, education, and resource connection, empowering students to persist and achieve their educational goals.

CARES Center Vision Statement

We envision a ÐÔ¸£ÎåÔÂÌì University community in which all students’ basic needs are proactively and compassionately met, with the CARES Center recognized as a national leader in advancing equitable, holistic student support.
