Change Kaltura Video Viewing Permissions
You can control who is able to view your Kaltura videos via the Publishing Status settings.
Private vs. Unlisted Videos:
- Private: Only you (the video owner) can view the video. Private videos can be embedded in Canvas courses using the Embed Kaltura Media tool, which will allow enrolled users to view them within the course.
- Unlisted: Anyone with the video URL can view the video. A 性福五月天 login is not required for viewing.
By default, videos that are uploaded via the Kaltura Capture application are set to "private," while videos uploaded via the Media Upload option are "unlisted." Video viewing permissions can be changed at any time by following these instructions.
Change Publish Status via My Media page
- Log into Kaltura at video.kent.edu. View Kaltura Login instructions if needed.
Click the User icon in the top right corner. Then select My Media from the drop-down menu. All of your videos will be listed on this page.
- Locate the desired video, then click on the three dots to the right to view the options menu.
Select Publish status from the menu, then select the desired option.
Tip: You can change the publishing status of multiple videos at a time! Click the checkboxes in the top left of the video thumbnails, then click the Publish button in the menu at the top of the page and select the desired option.

You can also change the publishing status from a video page.
- Navigate to the desired video page.
Click on the three dots below the video playback window.
Select Publish Status from the menu, then select the desired option.
